The library is mostly quiet. It’s already Wednesday and the snow has been falling since last night. They say it will be a white Christmas in Minneapolis.
The Christmas gifts are wrapped in red paper and red string. Cookies are staying cool in the fridge. Some have strawberry jam in them while the other half are chocolate dipped.
We decided against setting up the Christmas tree this year. Less clean up later!
I can’t wait for our new computer to arrive. I will finally be able to upload some pictures for everyone to see.
Until next time… play in the snow, drink hot chocolate, and read a book under a cozy blanket!
Why is “Hark the herald angel sing” so difficult to play?
I had such a great Sunday. Brunch with wonderful friends. The only drawback… the whole apartment stunk like bacon. It was tasty. “Lilljul” at Jonas and Shiloh’s house was very cozy. I have to brag about Shiloh’s wonderful gingerbread cookies. Absolutely wonderful!
We actually have a showing today of ur apartment. Sam started boiling a clementine with cloves just to get the very strong smell of fried bacon out of the house. It worked!
I got in! I am going to study at Linkoping University. It’s a 10 credit course in Organizational Psychology. I’m so excited. It’s a long distance course so I can do it over the internet.
We finally got our new Dell laptop. I’m going to start the process of adding pictures. It’s so exciting.
All day today has been all about setting up the computer. I did go to church for a little bit and worked on organizing all the worship songs in alphabetic order. Lets see how long they stay that way…
Check out the picture pages!
….. ok don’t… the way this is set up, I can only upload pics that are 150kb at the most. None of my pics are that small. I guess I will have to shop around for other blogs that lets us load bigger pics. Until then…. this blog will have to do!
Yes. I figured it out. All of our pictures are now on a different webpage. Just click on the first link “A+ All our pictures” we have several different albums to choose from.
MSN Microsoft to the rescue!
Today I baked some more Christmas cookies. I grabbed the wrong meauring cup and messed up on one batch. 1/2 cup instead of 1/2 dl. It makes a HUGE difference. Oh well, I got one batch completely perfect!
We leave Minneapolis at 12 noon tomorrow. I suppose that is when Christmas offically starts for us.
Until next time…
Don’t forget to check out the pictures on the first link!
Sam, Jim (his dad), Carl (Sam’s bro), and Nate (Sam’s friend) are all playing and singing. They have two guitars, one keyboard, and one base. They are rocking the house. I think they completely forgot that Jim is in charge of cooking Christmas dinner today.
We left Minneapolis at noon and got to Malta Montana at about 2am central time or 1 am mountain time. It went rather well and we never got too tired.
It has been warm the last couple of days. No sleighbells have been heard this Christmas.
We had a Christmas dinner the 24th with ham, strudels, meatballs, wieners, deviled-eggs, boiled potatoes, julknacke, and julmust.
Dinner was followed by reading the Christmas story about Jesus’ birth and then we got to share the joy of giving gifts. We had plenty of cookies, chocolates, and pie.
We are truly blessed to be able to spend the holidays with friends and family.
I do miss Sweden and my family during Christmas. We have so many traditions that become important when away from the country. It’s also difficult to be away from all my nieces and nephews.
The worst yet funniest part of this Christmas was “Jones’ soda.” Carl and Aaron had bought the holiday pack with the 5 flavored sodas: Turkey and Gravy (very salty), Brussel Sprouts (stinky and actually makes you wanna vomit), Herb Stuffing, Pumpkin Pie (you’d think this wouldn’t be too bad but you are wrong!), and finally Cranberries.
We will soon have pictures up on the link with all of this….
I tried the Turkey and Gravey, you’re right, it’s very salty. The Cranberry one wasn’t too bad, and all I did was smell the brussel sprouts and that was bad enough!! I’m going to try to find those flavors around here for my friends to try!
We now have some pictures from this Christmas in the link. Even some snapshots of when we tried the Jones’ soda. You can tell on our faces that it was just a very bad experience. There is one of Jim just smelling the Brussel Sprout flavored pop. He didn’t even try it and he is making such a face!
Sam and I have had a great time. We have been hiding a multi-geocache in Malta. We will send out the family to find it tomorrow. Aaron was kind enough to help us hide it.
We also went horseback riding and I have to say that my bottom is still hurting. I’m just a cityslicker. But we had lots of fun!
Jim has been very excited about our jam sessions at the church. The Roberts family came out today and played with us. Yesterday we spent about 3 hours and today I think they played for another 3 hours. Jim’s been in heaven…
We went to youth group today and heard Carl preaching about making a difference even when we might think that we have nothing to give. He drew examples from David and his fight with Goliath.
I’m tired after staying up until past 2 am playing Texas Hold’em.
What’s wrong with us? I stayed up with Sam and his two brothers until 4:30am yesterday (today). We were playing “Payday” when we all suddenly realized that we were hungry. So at 1:45am we fired up the grill and made hamburgers. We were watching three episodes of the twilight zone while eating.
We actually got up before noon and had breakfast. Needless to say, we are all very tired. I’m not sure if we can keep this up.
Well we did keep it up. I don’t think we went to bed earlier than am any day. It helped us driving back to Minneapolis as we rolled in at about 5 am in the morning and actually unpacked our bags before going to bed.
Now I’m content. I just had a nice cup of hazelnut coffe with a toasted sesame bagel. Sam and I are sitting at Panera Bread reading the paper and doing crossword puzzles and sudokos.
My back hurts a bit but that’s to be expected after a 14 hour car ride. Someone is looking at our condo and we are praying for an offer.
Another day at Panera Bread. The Wi-Fi is great here. We had two showings today of our condo so I had to go somewhere and why not cozy Panera?
I’m still rather tired and try to catch up on sleep since our vacation in MT. It’s great to be home. It’s fun to visit but it’s alway nice to be in your own space.
I’m so grateful for the time we had with Sam’s family. We had a lot of fun. Sam’s parents did everything they could to help us feel welcome and keep us enjoying our stay. Sam’s brothers were great in letting us hang out with them night after night.
We had some great times. I’m going to work on putting the last pcitures from Christmas on the web. Most of the pics are alread up-loaded.
