We just realized that I can really take advantage of the pregnancy just by making some adjustments to how I phrase things.
Just because you are not hungry right now, are you really going to make your ENTIRE family go out into the kitchen and cook?
Are you going to make your ENTIRE family go and get juice at the store?
Are you really going to watch this show when your ENTIRE family wants to watch something else?
Are you going to hog that blanket and let your ENTIRE family be without?
Are you going to eat all that when your ENTIRE family has to share this?
The possiblity are endless and we were laughing a lot while making up different scenarios. I think I will really use this from time to time!

Ha, ha, ha! Take advantage of the situation while you can. Soon enough that little one will come out and guess who will be in charge then!!! Plus, guess who completely loses the right to decide when to eat, when to sleep, when to shower etc for at least an entire year’s time…

Blips pregnant daughter put together a “Dutch” care package for us and put it in the car. She got very busy and 4 months later she found it in the trunk of the car. She was shocked since she could actually sort of remember mailing it. She did wonder why we never mentioned receiving it. (hang in there, there is a point to the story)
She decided to blame it on …ta da…pregnency dementia!
Go ahead and use the PD excuse. It is time limited so make the best of it!

It didn’t quite work for me with Jonas the way I wanted it to. I do have to say he was and has been amazing, but I just couldn’t use the pregnancy to “take advantage”. He was too wary for that! I did use the excuse with others a few times though

Well forgetfullness does increase during pregancy. Of course I can´t remember where I read it right now… however it is very annoying. I am so used to just remembering stuff and now I have to carefully write it down. I have warned my coworkers of this so that they don´t feel “attacked” when I ask them “when did we talk about this, when did we say it was ok to do that” etc. I seriously just ask because I can´t remember… not because I mistrust anyone or question their actions.

Sam is starting to turn this democracy thingy around. Saying that the ENTIRE family is ganging up on him! Sort of starting to back fire on me

I was just talking with a co-worker who is also in her first year of motherhood and we are still dealing with the forgetfulness - so prepare your co-workers, friends and family for the long run not just for your pregnacy.
It really does impact work sometimes - especially because we were all such amazing working women before kids and now people might question how amazing we really are. But all mothers totally get it and are generally forgiving.
*** No more thinking about work when you are at home - now you will be thinking about home while you are at work.

Funny! This brings up some of my daughter’s “changes” while (recently) pregnant. Forgetfulness is one of them. Glad you are not using a car. That’s all I will say!
RE: strollers. The baby jogger is fantastic if either of you are runners, or if you walk long distances and up hills. It seems to have shock absorbers and is very light weight. You’d still need an all-purpose stroller, though.
