Just make sure it’s really a statue!
A few months ago my uncle came through Sweden for a week. His job sends him all over the world…usually into hostile situations…(who am I kidding, Sweden can be pretty hostile in November-December.) It gets pretty cold and dark here.
I snapped this picture because my uncle told me a funny story about it. He was staying in the old part of Stockholm and noticed this statue of an old woman nearby the bus stop that he used to go to work. Every time he went by it, someone was leaning on it, laying hands on it, and on a few occasions, giving it a full body hug! He finally went over for a closer inspection and discovered that it was REALLY warm! We were not sure how this was accomplished, possibly electricity or warm water running through it.

Being sick
There is a scene in “You´ve got mail” where Tom Hanks comes up to Meg Ryans apartment when she is really sick. She has used up tissue everywhere that she frantically tries to pick up before he enters her apartment. Sam´s reaction once was - who does that? Meaning, who would just through their tissue anywhere after using it…. well… Now he knows!
I have been down with the flu since Saturday morning and that is a very long time for me! Every night I have to walk around and collect my used tissue from the floor by the couch, the floor by my bed, or the floor by the computer chair.
I won´t post pictures of it… you will just have to watch the movie!

Door

Lately I have realized that I pay attention to doors. I find them intresting. Well, some more than others! There are so many different designs, colors, shapes and then the whole setting. The way the light shines on the door and the wall that frames it.
So I decided I would start sharing some pictures I take of doors. I´ll post them here every now and then.
This one is actually a picture of two doors and I really liked them both.

SUPERBOWL MONDAY
Since “American” football is such a non deal here, I was surprised that they were broadcasting the big game! Of course with the time zone differences, it started at midnight. But it was live and it was football so I was determined to see it!
Earlier on Sunday I went to the grocery store with my wife and bought pretzels, doughnuts, candy, ect. in anticipation of my own “superbowl party”. I took cat naps all day on Sunday so my batteries would be fully charged. And finally the moment arrived! My wonderful wife stayed up and watched the opening drive with me.
The halftime show had Tom Petty which was GREAT! They have all been pretty old school acts since the whole Janet Jackson episode. I think they have been playing it safe.
My team lost. (which is kind of a Superbowl tradition for me) But I did have fun jumping around and cheering. (quietly) I think I must be getting old, because I really didn’t feel like eating all of that junk food at 2:00 AM.
Finally at 4:15 I crawled into bed.
