Many of you have commented on the gingerbread flavored ice cream sandwich episode a few months ago. Here is an update;
I got a package in the mail the other day from my nephew Jaeger. He is a pretty sharp kid (with great penmenship) He sent a “care package” and inside was a freeze dried ice cream sandwich! I was so excited to tear it open and taste it!
So I though I would try it in front of the camera…
Here is what it looked like;
Words cannot describe the experience;

Judging by the size of it left in your hand….it was heavenly.
Jaeger is a smart kid indeed!

That’s sweet and thoughtful of Jaeger. Never had freeze-dried ice cream before. Here’s a question - If you stuck it in the freezer to lower it from room temp, would you get a pseudo sensation of eating actual ice cream?

Wow..I never thought to do that. I think maybe that could work…although it would be dry crumbly ice cream.

Ice cream sandwiches are just the beginning…they have berry cobbler, scrambled eggs with bacon, beef stew…
We went on a camping trip with some friends who brought along spagetti with meat sauce. It was kinda good actually. You add boiling water to this silver envelope full of crunchy meatballs & petrified noodles & 7 minutes later it’s ready. It tastes pretty good if you can get past the fact that you’re eating meat that has been dried & sitting on a shelf for months. I think it’s just that food tastes better when you’re eating around a campfire in the woods.
Only a couple weeks left!
