Christmas food

The family started to settle down after the big shock, women putting on some new make-up since the mascara was smudged, everyone red-eyed, smiling, tears of joy still thick in the throat ready to come out at anytime if stirred to it.

We finally started to eat the Swedish traditional lunch with ham, sausages, meatballs, egg-halves, salmon, red betes, cheese, pickled herring, boiled potatoes, janssons tempation.

We had started out being so very hungry and after all the excitement it was hard to eat.

Everywhere in Sweden people were eating the same things at about the same time on Christmas Eve. I took the dog out for a walk just before we ate and I could smell the food cooking from all the houses throughout the neighborhood.

Next year… we will try something new! We say it every year… the intentions are good!

I was in a store today and I saw this advertisement on a display rack. I took a picture of it with my camera phone so I could share it with you all…

I don’t remember much from my marketing classes in college, but I have to wonder if this ad campaign is sucessfull. Seriously, anyone have any idea what they are selling? Actually that gives me an idea. If anyone can guess what they are selling I will send them a box of Swedish chocolates. Good Luck! You can guess multiple times, but only once every 24 hours.

I still laugh at that little guy in the corner…is that a clothes iron he is holding?
