My sister came to pick me up in Mullsjö. I have been having difficulties falling asleep so I’m very tired. My sis and I had a great lunch with my brother’s family. We headed out west to Borås to pick up mom from the bus station as she came back from a visit in Stockholm. From Borås we headed south to Kinna/Skene where they live.

I have been reconnecting with some old friends. Some I haven’t talked with since I moved to the US about 9 years ago. And Anna of course who was in our wedding.

I’m going to try to get mom and sis with me out to geocache tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not going to be as cold as the other day.

www.centrumprojektet.seI spent this day with my niece and nephew. My brother has been in a different town with work and his wife worked during the day. The kids played pc games. Rebecka was creating a zoo, sort of like sims and Alex played a divide and conquer game. While I am trying to figure out where to live.

It’s funny. One things works out, I get the job. Then a whole host of new things come up. I can’t wait until things are in a rythm and Sam is here with me. It’s much harder to make these decisions more or less alone when we are so used to leaning on each other.

We made a lasagna and then we headed out to go geocaching. There is a lot of snow here now. We just got a new layer. So we all had some snow in our shoes and our fingers were very cold. I took the kids to a really cozy cafe. It’s right on the edge of the lake. Alex & Rebecka picked two chocolate bakery items each and I had a “semla.” We bought some candy that we ate as we watched the swedish version of “Dancing with the Stars.”

celebration

I got the job. My new boss called me today and asked me what my impressions were from the interview yesterday. Then he offered me the job and we discussed a “price.” I could start working as soon as Monday if all the administrative work can be done by then. He is going to call me back this afternoon.

A special thanks to all who prayed so hard. To all who told me to go to Sweden and try. To my husband for being my best friend. To Eileen & Kathy for giving such great references. I love you all and miss you immensly!

successAnybody can sympathise with the sufferings of a friend, but it requires a very fine nature to sympathise with a friend’s success.

interview Now it’s done. I only have to wait. Pray that they choose me. I think things went really well. They asked me 21 questions and it took almost 2 hours. We laughed some and I had difficulties with a few questions. Then we said good bye and they said they would make their decision today or tomorrow. So I guess I will find out tomorrow.

Right now I really doubt myself. It feels as though they are going with the other person. This waiting time is hardest. It’s like I expect the job to go to the other person. Argh.

The job sounds really nice and the other women that work there are really kind and fun. The work they do is very interesting and very similar to what I did at Boston Health Care Systems. I really think I would do the job well and fit in. But it’s out of my hands now.

lost and foundOn a less stressful note… I got my suitcases today. I haven’t opened them yet but I think everything is there!

paperclip can fix everything Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.

Well, rather he called in sick. The guy that is supposed to do the interview with me has been home sick the past 3 days. We rescheduled the interview to Thursday at 1:15pm Swedish time. So tomorrow…

It’s actually to my advantage. I get to adjust to the time difference better. I hope things will work out fine. So keep me in your prayers.

Swedish Scratchoff gameLast night I had Tacos and swedish cake with my brother’s family. They had bought Valentines gifts for everyone and we had a great time. Right now my niece and nephew are watching American Idol. Yes, it made it over to Sweden and they are only about 2 weeks behind here.

GeocacheI think I might take my nephew out geocaching today and whoever else wants to come too. See if I can’t get them hooked!

Until next time…

My first GED student took her test and passed with “flying colors”.  Sunday we are presenting her with a certificate and scholorship. Hopefully this will inspire others to get off the fence and take the test.
